It looked kind of old. Hopefully it still works. I will find out! It was free and I can't argue with that!
I put it on the bumper seam and the rear body seam.
It turns the rust a dark color. It says that it reacts with the rust and totally seals it, stopping it from progressing. Sometime next week I'll paint over it with some primer. If it doesn't screw the primer up I think I'll be in good shape.
I also removed the right hand rear quarter window and weather stripping to see what was underneath.
It looks pretty good. Just a really small spot of rust. It will get sanded and treated with some more rust-proofer.
Is it hard to remove car windows? Do you need any special tools? Could you come up here and do my windshield? I know I am full of ???'s. But, hey, I am enjoying watching you work on your mini. Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty easy to remove Mini windows, there's not much to them. The rear window's rubber seal was so brittle with age I was able to break it off in pieces. The rear side windo comes out with just four screws. I don't know about your Honda, Mom. I'd probably do more harm than good! I think that is a bit more complicated than on a Mini. :) Thanks for looking at Percy's blog. I'm trying update it weekly as I work on him.
ReplyDeleteGene, I hope you didn't lose any brain cells using that stuff. Say, what year was your Mini manufactured? Dad
